Better known as The Brothers Bros.
Bros Engraving started out in a small factory in Parow Industria in 2011. Due to the astronomical cost of purchasing brand name CNC machinery required for fine engraving, we opted to rather source a customised CNC Router from a Cape Town based engineering company. The customisation required a large amount of R&D effort from Bros allied with support from the manufacturing company, to ensure the sufficient level of accuracy required for the engraving work. The resultant machine was an SA first and certainly the most accurate Router ever produced by the local company.
Given the positive response from our clients and the resultant work load 12 months later, the accuracy and quality produced by our machine couldn’t be faulted. The accuracy and large size of the high speed cutting surface meant unmatched turnaround times. This allowed us to receive an order, process the order, manufacture, invoice and dispatch the finished product back to the client (nationally) before the end of the day (if required). Quoting from a large client in Johannesburg “We are getting our blocks quicker than what we are getting our films played out from our local supplier”.
Initially we targeted new customers with a 6 month promotion focusing on highly competitive pricing on magnesium blocks for foiling and embossing. The response was amazing and to reward those initial customers we extended the promotion to the full year, securing some key clients. We’d like to thank those clients of ours who gave us the opportunity and assisted in establishing Bros as a key player in the industry, focussing on the quality service and speedy turnaround times we pride ourselves in.
Interestingly our very first order wasn’t even from Cape Town, where we were concentrating our marketing efforts, but was from Port Elizabeth. News of our establishment had spread fast and Theo from Classic Finishers decided to give us an opportunity. In a sign of things to come, that first order was for a combination foiling and embossing block with counter force, ensuring that we started off specialized!
Now barely 18 months after opening our doors we’re acquiring a second machine to assist with handling the volume of business we’ve come to expect. After testing a number of options we decided to go with tried and tested technology and have purchased a HAAS router. Almost 15 years ago these were the machines that introduced us to the industry; in fact those very machines, although being slow with a small engraving area, are still being utilized by the company we worked for, demonstrating their sturdiness and reliability. Understandably we didn’t opt for the entry level model and instead focussed on the best money could buy and are equipping ourselves with one twice the spindle speed and twice the engraving area, sticking to our mantra – BIGGER, BETTER, FASTER!
